From Don Williams to Nine Inch Nails

One of my gifts for Ty at Christmas was concert tickets to P!nk. We finally got to see her over Memorial Weekend in Vegas, and I was blown away! She is extremely talented. From her incredible acrobatic moves to hitting every pitch, there wasn’t a moment during the concert that I wasn’t amazed.

After the show, I was asked, “Was that your favorite concert?” I wanted to say “Yes!”, but felt I was saying that only because it was fresh in my mind. So, I started thinking, “Who have I seen live?” I then realized I never documented it anywhere, so am doing so now. Listed after “the jump” is the list. There is no particular order, with the exception of my first entry, which is my favorite. I am sure I’ve missed some, as I’m going solely off memory and iOS photo searches of “concerts” (great tip!). Asterisks represent how many times I’ve seen that artist or group in concert.

I grew up listening to Don’s music, as both my parents are big fans. The first time I saw him was at the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo in 1997 with my dad. I remember being embarrassed when he came out on stage and I immediately started crying. My dad told me that’s what happens when you see your idols.

Fast forward to 2013, and it was announced that Don was coming out of retirement. I immediately followed his tour dates, and was very excited to see he would be in two towns near us. Since my Mom and Dad divorced, I would have the opportunity to see him twice and take them separately! That marked the second and third time I saw him live (and both were amazing).

The last time I saw him live was in 2014, and I was so happy because Ty said he wanted to go with me. Looking back, this was my favorite concert. I got to see a musician I loved with the guy I love. Don passed away last year (I remember crying when I read it), and I was so thankful I got to see him live more than once.

I live in Wine Country. No, not the one in California. The other one in Washington state. This means enjoying wine comes naturally to me.
